For most Americans, the next few weeks will be a time of overly busy schedules, frenzied efforts to find the best deals, and excessive consumption. In short, a secular celebration of materialism and consumption rather than a spiritual preparation for the birth of the Christ child. We want to help you keep Christ in Christmas.
The term “Advent” is derived from the Latin word adventus, which means “coming.” The four weeks before Christmas have traditionally been a time when Christians prepare to celebrate the coming of Christ.
During the four Sundays of Advent, through special music and sermons, our worship will focus on preparing for the coming of the Christ child. Each week the children will be involved, as one of them lights a candle on the Advent Wreath to picture that Christ came for them too. On Dec 14, the worship service will include the Cornerstone Children’s Choir, assisted by our Youth Group.
Join us this Sunday as we focus on the coming of Christ into this world.
